Summer events and entertainment coming in Barking

Barking residents and visitors can look forward to a packed schedule of free outdoor events, activities and al-fresco dining this summer, thanks to support from the Mayor of London’s Summer Streets Fund.

In Barking, Short Blue Place will be transformed into a lively evening destination from late August 2026 to January 2027. This will feature performances, cultural events and family-friendly activities curated by local arts organisation Artsdepot. Alongside performances and opportunities for local artists, young people, and community groups to get involved, a food market will also be coming to the heart of Barking town centre for all to enjoy.

The Summer Streets Fund is part of the Mayor of London’s commitment to bring more life to high streets and town centres, helping Londoners to make the most of the city throughout the summer and beyond.
